A School Supply Drive
to benefit the Students of CW Dillard Elementary

As we all know the school district budget is more than tight this year...And next year looks worse. So on May 6th, Open House, the PTA will be collecting school supplies to help offset some of the expenses that our school faces.  Requested items include, but are not limited to:

Right now there are good deals on pencils at Costco, and next week (starting 4/25) Staples has copy paper on sale for $1.00 per ream. They also have a coupon for paperclips.  Please consider donating what you can -- every little bit will help. If each of the approximately 200 families at Dillard donates just one ream of copy paper (remember it's only a dollar next week at Staples) we could give the school 200 reams of paper -- and that's a LOT of paper.

Class Project Auction

We will be having an auction extravaganza to give parents the opportunity to purchase projects made by each class.  Our format this year is rather different -- there will be no big dinner party to attend, simply stop by the school between May 3rd and May 6th to place your bid.  Bids will close during Open House.  This auction will be taking place in Room 10:  Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, and Thursday from 8:30 pm to 3:00 pm.  The last part of the auction will be Thursday from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm in the MP room...

The procedure for placing a bid is simple:  Sign in with your name and address -- and the line you sign in on becomes your bidder number.  Then you can peruse the fabulous class projects and various teacher donated opportunities, and start bidding.  The minimum bid for class projects will be $25, and for teacher items it will be $15. All bids will increase in increments of $5.

This is a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of Dillard School history!

Shop with Scrip
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the scrip program, it is basically money for nothing.  All you have to do is purchase gift cards for stuff you were already going to buy anyway (groceries, gifts, gas, clothes, etc) through our scrip program, and the school gets a check.  It's that simple.  You buy what you want, when you want, and the school gets a percentage.

2010 Changes:
 Simplified Scrip is no longer in business!  We are looking into other companies that will allow you to have scrip shipped directly to your home.

We want to encourage you to register your Safeway Club Card and other loyalty cards on escrip.com.  That way, a percentage of any purchase you make comes back to our school.  Our School ID# is 6650293.  (You cannot purchase scrip cards on this site.) Save Money!!!:  Budget yourself by purchasing Scrip for groceries, gas, clothes, holiday spending. Plan out your monthly budget and use Scrip to help stay on track. We will continue to order scrip from Great Lakes Scrip as we have in the past.  You can order online at www.shopwithscrip.com, or download an order form and turn in to Jennifer Henkens.
